Candles and Fairy lights - room must haves

LIGHT UP YOUR ROOM

Over Christmas I've been adding the finishing touches to my room and you really won't believe the difference candles and fairy lights make. Sometimes a main light can be quite harsh, especially in my room which is blue - it makes it feel very icy. You really want to soften the light, making it warmer, feminine and all glowey (I'm not sure if that is a word). So with the aid of some cute tea lights, a chai tea scented candle (yum) and some warm white fairy lights from lights4fun (yes this is a website that I spend my free time on) this is what I set about doing.

May I just add that EVERYONE should own a chai tea scented candle

I was given a set of '100 postcards from Vogue' - Amazon £10, I'd had my eye on these for ages and I can tell you they are well worth the money. You get a whole box full of all the vintage covers which are simply gorgeous, I used mine to line my whole ceiling, but you really have enough to do a whole vogue wall. (Project alert)

Christmassy(ish) Nails

Seeing as it is Christmas Eve I thought it would be appropriate to do a post about my festive(ish) nails. I say ish because you could have these nails at any time of the year really but they do feel especially appropriate for the Christmas season.

The nail varnish I used was the Barry M Nail Paint in Copper, I love this one because it is gold and sparkly and really what more could you want? Also it lasts for so long, I can wear it for a week at least without a single chip which is really useful as it means I don't have to do my nails to often when wearing this polish.
I think that it is quite Christmassy because gold is a fairly festive colour, also when I hold my nails up to a light it reflects lots of little red speckles. I didn't really want to go to all the effort of being creative and drawing Christmas stuff on my nails like the trees or reindeer that some people do, but I think I can just about get away with it wearing this nail polish.

Merry Christmas!

PARTY WISHLIST

60'S FLUFF CROP DRESS - TOPSHOP

This is possibly one of the nicest dresses I have ever seen. The more I look at it th e nicer it becomes. I love the sixties style, which fits in beautifully with the current two-piece trend. The colour and back detail are simply gorgeous, perfect for a Christmas party or new years celebration. While I've been sitting drooling over my computer screen, I have thought of a possible outfit. All you need to do is shrug on a black fur coat, heeled black boots, some silver hoops and your on your way.  mmmmmm

TRUE DECADENCE BEADED CAMI LOW SLIP DRESS - ASOS

Now this little beaded beauty is something that I repeatedly picture myself wearing to a costume party with a little fur shrug and a beaded headband, but since this is unlikely I am content with the idea of pairing it with a pretty burgundy coat and strappy heels. I have a thing for backless dresses, I think its a lovely intimate style and put  with the right dress, is very sophisticated.

OH MY LOVE METALLIC CAMI SLIP DRESS- ASOS

I really think this dress is the height of party dresses, something about the style reminds me of the white Chanel dress worn by Cher in Clueless - only making me want it more. Imagine strutting into a party, slipping off you sexy kimono to reveal a metallic cami.

Gosh.

I think white or black heels would equally aid this number, but seriously with this dress I don't think it really matters what shoes your wearing.
